Levante: where the wind draws the coast and the sea tells stories

A journey along the north-eastern coast of Sicily is like gliding over a canvas painted by the wind. Departing from the port of Palermo, we leave behind the hubbub of the city and head towards increasingly open and silent landscapes. Hidden bays, spectacular headlands, sea caves and waters that change colour with every reflection: it is an experience you will not forget.

Between turquoise bays and secret cliffs

The first stop takes us to Frenchman’s Bay, a small sheltered inlet where the water colour changes from green to turquoise in just a few metres. Generally accessible only by small boats, it proves perfect to explore by tender or on board an SUP, gliding between rocks and submerged caves. The seabed, rich in life and clearly visible, offers excellent conditions for snorkelling. A few miles further on is the Blue Arch, a natural formation that appears to have been carefully sculpted, with an arched opening between the rocks creating a play of light between sea and sky.

If sea conditions permit, it is possible to venture inside its caves, a small paradise for those who love to swim and explore underwater.

Cefalù: final landing between history and golden light

Leaving the promontories and coves behind, we push eastwards until we reach one of the most iconic places on the coast: Cefalù. Its profile can be recognised from afar, with the rocky promontory embracing the town, the houses facing the sea and, above all, the Norman cathedral dominating the historic centre. Cefalù is a town suspended between past and present, between art and simplicity. Its golden beaches, clear waters and lively promenade make every stop here special. Thanks to our tender and SUPs, we can approach the coast and enjoy the panorama from a privileged vantage point, amidst the golden reflections of sunset. It is a perfect ending to a journey that is not just about sailing, but an experience of light, silence and wonder.

Capo Zafferano: the lighthouse, the coves, the silence

The journey continues to Capo Zafferano, one of the most striking promontories on the entire Palermo coastline. The lighthouse that dominates the point stands out against the horizon, offering spectacular views and a rarefied atmosphere, almost suspended in time. The cliffs surrounding the promontory plunge steeply into the sea, revealing hidden coves among the rocks.

Cala del Cuore, with its curious shape resembling a heart, is perfect for snorkelling in calm, transparent waters. A little further on, Cala Tonnarella can only be reached by sea, making it even more intimate and precious. Capo Zafferano is an invitation to silence, to let oneself be carried along by the current, without haste.
